Goals 93 and 94. Check and Mark.

At the beginning of the year I wrote this blog post about being comfortable in my own skin.  It was really theraputic and honest for how I felt at the time.  I’ve mulled over those words and feelings over and over.  After visiting with doctors and having them put me on several medicines I decided enough was enough. I want to be as healthy as possible and try to be as medicine free as possible.  I decided to work on my bucket list goals 93 and 94, meet with a nutritionist and personal trainer.

I have been working Mary Dimmick for the last three weeks at the Sport’s Academy and she is wonderful!  She is honest, candid, direct, encouraging and a lot of fun to be around.  These two goals of mine have intimidated me for years.  I decided enough was enough and it was time to push my fears aside.  My first meeting with Mary was harder than I thought it would be….but each visit after that gets not only a lot easier, but enjoyable.

I go to the gym nearly every day, taking a quick Instagram photo each time. (some of my faves below) I eat as many whole and unprocessed food as possible.  The best thing…I’ve never felt better!  I actually really love and look forward to my time at the gym, riding my bike or doing something active.  Facing this fear has been really rewarding and I’ve learned a lot about my potential.  It’s really rewarding to see what can be accomplished when I believe in myself.

PS If you like Zumba, you really need to come with me to Mary’s classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I have a couple guest passes to the Sports Academy:)

So I creeped on you after you gave me your email. :]
I would love to try Zumba!
Also, have you ever done a cake smash photo shoot? It’s a long way off, but I want to get one done when Ethan turns one next June. :]

My Favorite Product From Paper Coterie

Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Utah companies, Paper Coterie.  Their company creates a large variety of products that you create using your photos: wall art, growth charts, recipe books, cards, and one of my favorites, memory keepers.  I’m a person that doesn’t love clutter.  I love to keep little momentos from various things but hate having clutter and papers I don’t know where to put.  My favorite solution has been these memory keepers. They are large enough to fit in full sheets of paper and several inches deep and hold a wide variety of items.  I have been giving them out as baby gifts and wedding gifts.  I love how mine looks on the bookcase with the beautiful photos from my friend, Kristin.  I wanted to share this with you because they are offering a promotion for $40 in credit by using the promo code, ‘WELCOME2012′ toward any product of your choice and all you have to pay for is shipping.  I hope you love your memory keeper as much as I love mine:)

Baby Shower Fun

This summer one of my dear friends, Jessie, had two beautiful little girls eleven week early.  Fortunately, her daughter’s, Amelia and Eliza are doing really well and are growing fast.  Originally, her baby shower was planned for an August evening weeks before the twins arrived.  The way things ended up working out the twins were already born and we were able to see beautiful photos of them at the shower.  My friend, Terra and I continued with our hosting plans.  The shower was a nice backyard event with all spouses coming to visit.  Congratulations Mike and Jessie on your beautiful expanding family! Your miracle babies are beautiful!

Sarah Missionary Portraits

I love the opportunity to photograph portraits.  It’s great one on one time with a client that is my favorite.  A couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph beautiful Sarah.  It was fun to chat and realize we know dozens of the same people.  Sarah is headed on a mission to Temple Square in Salt Lake City.  The next time you visit look for Sister Vassar and give her a giant, friendly hello:)

Summer in Cache Valley Instagram Style

Fall has officially settled into Cache Valley. I have also officially started celebrating my birth month:)I thought now would be a good time to post some summer highlights courtesy of my Instagram feed.  This summer I did all sorts of crazy fun things with my hair including a hair bow.  Laundry was also my official demise this summer. This summer we started our quest for eating only homemade food.  Two of my favorites: pad thai and ‘rumbi’ style rice and pork.I’ve continued with my weekly fingernail painting tradition with a hint of glitter.  After 6 years, the time came for me to replace my glasses.  I tried these Harry Potteresque Panguin glasses….but they didn’t work out very well for me.I can’t wait until we have a piano in our own house! In the mean time I’ve been sneaking over to my parent’s house to play their grand piano and playing the organ in church lots. One of our very favorite highlights this summer was playing weekly softball with our ward.  I even hit the ball a couple of times! No summer is complete without visiting my brother in law for an awesome BBQ and visiting my brother’s farmers market pancake stand, Stacked. No summer is complete without beautiful sunsets and sunrises….the beauty of Cache Valley!

This post actually made me really miss Logan and you guys and all the wonderful people we knew there! :( We really do need to get together soon. I know we keep saying that, but let’s actually plan a date or something! Let me know your thoughts. . .

Really I am trying, but I don’t remember having an awesome BBQ this year. When did this awesomeness happen?
